Set Up Your Controller and Start Playing

Connect Your Controller

Plug in your controller before launching the game. The mod automatically detects most standard controllers—no extra configuration needed. Once connected, the main menu will display controller prompts instead of keyboard shortcuts.

Navigate the Legacy Console Menu

Use your controller's directional pad or analog stick to move through menu options. The shoulder buttons (LB/RB or L1/R1) let you switch between tabs in the crafting screen and inventory, just like the old console editions. The A button (or Cross on PlayStation controllers) confirms selections, while B (or Circle) goes back.

Create Your First World

From the main menu, select Create World. You'll see options for world type—choose between standard infinite worlds or classic limited worlds if you want a smaller play area. Use the shoulder buttons to browse through world settings. Once you've configured your world, press A to generate it and start playing with full controller support throughout your session.
