Host a World for Friends to Join Online

Open Your World to LAN

While playing in your world, pause the game and look for the Open to LAN option in the pause menu. Select it to enable multiplayer on your local network. You can adjust game mode and cheats settings before opening.

Share Your World Address

Once LAN is active, your friends on the same network can see your world in their multiplayer server list. They'll see your world name and can click to join. If you're playing across the internet, you'll need to use a third-party tool to forward your connection.

Play Together

Your friends will spawn into your world and can build, explore, and play mini-games with you. The legacy console UI makes it easy for everyone to navigate menus together. You can adjust permissions in the pause menu if you want to restrict what guests can do—for example, preventing them from breaking blocks or using commands.
