Understanding Recipe Book Cooldown Behavior
How the Cooldown Works
When you click on a recipe in your recipe book, the mod prevents your client from sending multiple identical requests to the server in rapid succession. Instead of each click generating a packet flood, only one request per interaction is processed. This cooldown applies per recipe, meaning you can still interact with different recipes without delay—only repeated clicks on the *same* recipe are throttled.
What You'll Notice
Normal gameplay feels unchanged. You click a recipe, it displays, and you can craft. The cooldown is invisible during regular play because players don't typically spam the same recipe click hundreds of times per second.
If you were previously exploiting rapid recipe book clicks (intentionally or unintentionally), you'll notice those clicks no longer generate server packets after the first one. This is the intended behavior—it protects the server from being overwhelmed.
Server-Side Effect
On multiplayer servers, this mod significantly reduces recipe book-related packet traffic. Server administrators benefit from improved stability, especially on servers with many players using recipe books simultaneously.
