Understand Crafting Grid Layout from Recipe Display

Reading the Recipe Grid

When you look up a recipe, the mod shows you the exact crafting pattern using a 3×3 grid representation. Understanding this layout is key to crafting correctly.

Grid Interpretation:

  • Each position corresponds to a slot on your crafting table
  • Ingredients are shown with their item names or icons
  • Empty slots are represented by underscores (_)
  • The result item is shown separately from the grid

Applying the Pattern

1. Look at the displayed grid layout

2. Place ingredients on your crafting table in the exact positions shown

3. Empty slots (marked with _) must remain empty—don't place items there

4. Once all ingredients are positioned correctly, the result appears in the output slot

The positioning matters: a recipe requiring ingredients in specific corners or edges will only work if you follow the exact pattern shown. This is why the visual grid display is so useful—it eliminates guesswork and prevents wasted materials.
