Optimize performance with high-resolution textures
Understand the performance cost
512×512 textures are significantly larger than vanilla's 16×16 resolution. This pack demands more VRAM and processing power, especially when paired with shaders. Performance depends on your GPU, available RAM, and render distance.
Adjust render distance and settings
Start with a render distance of 12–16 chunks. If you experience lag or stuttering, reduce it further. In your shader settings, lower shadow distance and disable expensive effects like volumetric lighting or ambient occlusion if needed.
Monitor resource usage
Open the debug screen (F3) and watch the memory bar. If it fills beyond 80%, reduce render distance or lower texture quality in your launcher settings. Some launchers allow you to allocate more RAM to Minecraft—increasing this to 4–6 GB can help.
Balance quality and smoothness
Test different combinations of render distance, shader settings, and allocated RAM. The goal is maintaining 60+ FPS while enjoying the detailed textures and realistic lighting effects this pack provides.
