Customize Water Appearance and Reflections

Open Water Settings

Press the Iris config key and find the Water section. This controls the BSL-inspired water features including reflections, color, and wave behavior.

Adjust Water Reflections

Look for Reflection Strength or Reflection Quality sliders. Increase these to make water more mirror-like and reflective of the sky and terrain. Decrease them for a more subtle, transparent water effect.

Modify Water Color and Clarity

Find Water Fog Distance or Water Clarity settings. Higher values make water more transparent and let you see deeper underwater. Lower values create murkier, more opaque water typical of murky biomes.

Fine-Tune Wave Effects

Some water settings control wave height and animation speed. Adjust these to match your preferred realism level—higher values create more dramatic, rolling waves.

Test in Different Biomes

Water appearance varies by biome. Visit oceans, rivers, and swamps to see how your adjustments look across different water types.
