Adjust Volumetric Fog Density for Night Visibility

Access Shader Settings

Press the Iris configuration key (default: O) while in-game to open the shader menu. Navigate to the Volumetric Fog or Atmosphere section—this is where night fog intensity is controlled.

Reduce Fog Thickness

If the volumetric fog at night is too dense and blocking your view, look for sliders labeled Fog Density, Fog Distance, or Volumetric Strength. Lower these values to increase visibility while keeping the atmospheric effect. Start by reducing by 10–20% and test in-game.

Increase Fog for Ambiance

If you want thicker, more dramatic fog, increase the same sliders. Higher values create a heavier, more immersive nighttime atmosphere.

Apply and Save

Changes apply instantly. Close the menu and observe how the fog looks in different biomes and times of night. Fog behavior may vary depending on your altitude and biome type, so test in multiple locations before finalizing your preference.
