Comparing Default and Realistic Moon Textures
Toggling Between Moon Versions
To appreciate the difference the Realistic Moon Resource Pack makes, you can quickly switch between the enhanced moon and Minecraft's default blocky version.
How to Compare
1. Open your resource pack menu – Press Esc, go to Options, then Resource Packs.
2. Locate Realistic Moon – Find it in your active resource packs list on the right side.
3. Temporarily disable it – Click the left arrow to move it to the inactive list.
4.
5. Re-enable the pack – Move Realistic Moon back to your active list.
6. Observe the difference – Return to night again to see the enhanced, realistic textures.
What to Notice
- Texture detail – The realistic version shows surface craters, shadows, and depth that the default lacks
- Color variation – Enhanced shading creates a more three-dimensional appearance
- Phase clarity – Lunar phases are more visually distinct and recognizable
- Immersion – The realistic moon feels like an actual celestial body rather than a flat sprite
This comparison helps you decide if the pack matches your preferred aesthetic.
