Troubleshoot a Campfire That Won't Light

Check Your Setup

Verify you have the right items:

• A log in your main hand (not your offhand)
• Flint and steel in your inventory
• A campfire block placed on the ground

Confirm the sequence:

1. Right-click the campfire with the log first

2. Then right-click with flint and steel

If you skip the log step or use them in the wrong order, the fire won't ignite.

Common Issues

Fire won't prepare: Make sure you're holding a log in your main hand, not offhand. Swap items if needed.

Fire won't ignite: Ensure the campfire is in the prepared state (you should see a visual change after adding the log). Then use flint and steel.

Fire extinguished immediately: This is normal—your fire has a limited duration. Relight it using the same process when needed.
