Pairing Realism Upscaled with a Shader Pack for Best Results

Why Shaders Matter

Realism Upscaled Resource Pack is designed to work alongside realistic shader packs. While the textures alone provide photographic detail, shaders add dynamic lighting, shadows, and reflections that bring those surfaces to life. Without shaders, you'll see the high-resolution textures clearly, but you'll miss the atmospheric depth that makes the pack truly shine.

How to Combine Them

1. Install your shader pack through your Minecraft launcher or shader mod folder (usually shaderpacks/)

2. Load a world with Realism Upscaled already active

3. Open Video Settings and enable shaders

4. Select your realistic shader from the list

5. Adjust shader settings to balance performance and visual quality—realistic shaders can be demanding

Recommended Settings

Start with moderate shadow distance and ambient occlusion enabled. This lets the photographic block textures show their detail while the shader handles realistic lighting. Test in different biomes—stone mountains and villages benefit most from shader enhancement, as the textures cast proper shadows and reflections.

If performance drops, reduce shadow resolution or disable advanced features like ray tracing until you find a comfortable balance.
