Identify Items in Your Inventory or on the Ground

Reading Item Names

Reader Mod extends beyond blocks—you can identify items anywhere they appear in your world.

Identifying Ground Items

1. Point your crosshair at an item lying on the ground

2. The item's name displays in your action bar

3. Move your crosshair away to clear the display

This is helpful when items are scattered after an explosion or when you're looting a structure and want to know what's worth picking up before opening your inventory.

Checking Inventory Items

While the mod primarily works by pointing at blocks and entities in the world, you can use it to verify item names when you're uncertain about what's in your hotbar or inventory slots.

Practical Applications

  • Sorting loot: Quickly identify valuable items in a pile without picking everything up
  • Finding specific materials: Scan a crafting area to locate the exact item you need
  • Learning mod items: When using multiple mods, Reader Mod helps you distinguish between similar-looking items from different mods

The action bar display is non-intrusive, so it won't interfere with your gameplay while you're gathering resources.
