Creating a Custom Songpack for Reactive Music Mod

Building a Songpack

Reactive Music Mod lets you replace or extend the soundtrack by writing your own songpacks. A songpack is defined through YAML config files, where you map music tracks to the events, biomes, or dimensions that should trigger them.

Start by identifying the events you want to cover. The mod supports events such as HOME, STORM, SNOW, BOSS, VILLAGE, and NEARBY_MOBS, and it also reacts to biome, dimension, weather, time of day, and player activity. In your YAML file, associate each of these conditions with the track you want played.

Because songpacks are plain config files, they are easy to share with other players. Once your pack is in place, the mod fades tracks in and out smoothly as conditions change, so transitions between events stay seamless. Use the mod's settings UI, which relies on YetAnotherConfigLib, to manage configuration, and commands like /reactivemusic blacklistDime to control playback.
