Check Server Connection Quality with the Ping Display

Enabling Ping Monitoring

Turn on the ping indicator in the mod settings. This displays your connection latency to the server in milliseconds (ms).

Interpreting Ping Values

Lower ping means faster communication with the server. Generally, under 50ms is excellent, 50-100ms is good, 100-200ms is acceptable, and above 200ms may cause noticeable lag. Your specific experience depends on your server and network.

Diagnosing Connection Problems

If your ping spikes suddenly or stays consistently high, you may have network issues. Check if other players are experiencing lag, or if something else on your network is consuming bandwidth. High ping can cause block-breaking delays, movement lag, and combat difficulties.

Optimizing Your Connection

If ping is high, try closing other applications, moving closer to your router, or switching to a wired connection if possible. Monitor the display over time to see if your connection stabilizes. Some servers are geographically distant, which naturally increases ping—this is normal and unavoidable.
