Use Wands to Create Redstone Signals Without Wires

Understanding Wand Mechanics

Wands let you send redstone signals through the air to distant redstone devices—doors, lights, traps—without laying down long redstone wire. This is especially useful in puzzle houses where visible wiring would ruin the aesthetic.

Setting Up a Wand Signal

1. Hold a wand in your hand.

2. Right-click on a redstone-powered block (like a door or lamp) to link the wand to it.

3. The wand is now attuned to that device.

4. Right-click in the air or on another surface to send a signal to the linked block from a distance.

Practical Applications

  • Secret doors: Link a wand to a wooden door and activate it from across the room without touching it.
  • Trap triggers: Activate bear traps or lights remotely during hide-and-seek games.
  • Multi-room puzzles: Control devices in different rooms from a central location.

Limitations

Wands have a limited range. Test your setup to ensure the signal reaches your target. You may need multiple wands for very distant devices or consider combining them with traditional redstone for longer distances.
