Set Up Your First Wireless Redstone Connection

Crafting and Placement

Craft a Wireless Transmitter and Wireless Receiver. Place the transmitter near the redstone power source you want to send, and place the receiver near the machine or mechanism you want to control. They do not need to be in the same chunk or even loaded simultaneously.

Assigning Channels

Right-click the transmitter to open its menu. Assign it a channel number—for example, channel 1. Right-click the receiver and assign it the same channel number. Only receivers matching the transmitter's channel will activate.

Testing the Connection

Apply redstone power to the transmitter (use a lever, button, or redstone dust). The receiver should activate if it is within range (default 256 blocks). Check that both blocks are on the same channel and that the distance between them does not exceed your server's configured limit.

Troubleshooting

If the receiver doesn't activate, verify:

  • Channel numbers match exactly
  • Distance is within range limits
  • The transmitter is receiving active redstone power
  • Neither block is obstructed by unloaded chunks
