Make the Rainbow Animation Faster or Slower
Understanding Animation Files
The rainbow animation speed is controlled through the resource pack's animation metadata. Locate the pack.mcmeta file in your extracted resource pack folder, and check for any animation configuration files in the texture directories.
Modifying Animation Speed
If the pack uses frame-based animation, look for animation duration values in metadata files. These are typically measured in game ticks. Lower values = faster animation; higher values = slower animation.
Edit the relevant .json or .mcmeta files with a text editor and adjust the frame time parameter. Common adjustments:
- Decrease the value to speed up the color cycling
- Increase the value to slow down transitions
Testing Your Changes
Save the file, reload your resource packs in-game (or restart Minecraft), and observe the XP bar. The gradient should cycle through colors at your new speed. Experiment with different values until the animation feels right for your preference.
