Adding Custom Ragdoll Physics for New Mobs

Using the Mod API

Ragdolls Mod provides an API that allows creators and advanced players to define custom falling physics for mobs not included by default. This is useful for mobs added by other mods.

How Custom Ragdolls Work

The API lets you:

  • Define bone structures and joint connections for custom mobs
  • Set physics properties like weight distribution and limb flexibility
  • Control how the ragdoll responds to impact and terrain
  • Create unique death animations tailored to each mob's body type

Getting Started

To add custom ragdoll support:

1. Locate the mod's API documentation in the mod files or official wiki

2. Create a configuration or data pack that defines your custom mob's ragdoll structure

3. Specify bone positions, joint constraints, and physics parameters

4. Test in-game to ensure the ragdoll behaves as intended

Testing Your Custom Ragdoll

Spawn the mob in creative mode and defeat it to observe the ragdoll behavior. Adjust physics values iteratively until satisfied with the results.
