Quest Giver Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I start a questline?
Find a Quest Giver Villager with an exclamation mark above their head and right-click them to open their questline. Each villager profession offers its own questline, so talk to several to see what's available.
Why can't I find any Quest Giver Villagers?
Quest Giver Villagers spawn as part of the modpack's configured setup, so they may only appear in specific villages, structures, or biomes defined by the pack. If you're not playing the intended modpack, they may not spawn at all.
What does the exclamation mark above a villager's head mean?
It marks that villager as a Quest Giver with an available questline. Once you've completed or accepted their quests, the marker changes or disappears.
How do I complete a quest task?
Open the quest from the Quest Giver and read the listed tasks, which can include collecting items, killing mobs, or visiting locations. Finish every task in the quest, then return to the villager to turn it in.
How do I claim my quest rewards?
After completing all tasks in a quest, talk to the Quest Giver Villager again and confirm the turn-in. The rewards are then given to you directly.
Can I have multiple quests active at once?
Yes, you can progress several questlines at the same time from different Quest Giver Villagers. Each questline tracks its own tasks and rewards independently.
What is the GuildMaster villager?
The GuildMaster is an additional villager profession added by the mod that provides its own questline. It works like other Quest Givers but is tied to the mod's guild-themed content.
Does this mod work with More Villagers, Beekeeper, and Guard villagers?
Yes, the mod includes compatibility so those professions can also act as Quest Givers with their own questlines. You'll need those mods installed for their questlines to appear.
How do I add my own quests?
Custom questlines are added through a datapack, not through in-game commands or config. You define quests, tasks, and rewards in the datapack files, then load it into your world.
Why does the mod say not to use it without the modpack?
The mod was built specifically for DawnCraft, so its quests, villagers, and datapack content are designed around that pack. Using it standalone means you won't have the intended questlines unless you supply your own datapack.
