Quantified API Mod: What It Does and How to Use It
Overview
Quantified API Mod is a
framework that other mods can build on to run heavy tasks more efficiently. It is not a content mod — you will not find new blocks or items here. Instead, it gives developers tools to keep the game stable when mods perform complex operations.
How It Works
When a supported mod runs a demanding task, the API decides where to send it. Smart task scheduling routes work to the most efficient hardware available. Tasks can run in parallel across CPU threads, or be offloaded to the GPU via OpenCL when compatible. Multi-layer caching stores results in RAM, on disk, or in VRAM for GPU tasks, reducing repeated work. Asynchronous execution keeps Minecraft from freezing during long operations, and distributed networking can spread tasks across multiple servers or instances.
For Players
You typically install this as a dependency for mods that require it. Built-in performance diagnostics let you monitor metrics and see how tasks are being handled. If a modpack feels smoother under heavy load, this
framework may be part of the reason.
