Get the Best Look in Different Lighting Conditions

Test Outlines in Daylight

Outlines are most visible and striking in bright conditions. Visit open areas during daytime to see how the shader renders bold lines around distant blocks and mobs. Adjust outline darkness if they appear washed out in sunlight.

Evaluate Underground and Cave Lighting

In dark environments, outlines may become harder to distinguish from shadows. Visit caves or mine at night to assess visibility. If outlines disappear into darkness, increase their intensity or brightness in shader settings.

Check Sunset and Twilight Rendering

Transition periods between day and night reveal how the shader handles mid-range lighting. These moments often expose issues with outline contrast. Make note of any settings adjustments needed for these times.

Use Artificial Light Sources

Place torches, lanterns, or other light blocks to see how outlines interact with localized lighting. This helps you understand whether the shader performs better with consistent or varied light sources.

Fine-Tune Based on Your Play Style

If you spend most time underground, prioritize visibility in low light. If you prefer building in daylight, optimize for bright conditions. Adjust settings to match where you play most.
