Set Up Beginner Protection for New Players

Enable Newbie Protection

Beginner protection gives newly joined players temporary invulnerability so they can explore safely without being immediately targeted. This is essential for retaining new players on competitive servers.

Configuration Steps

1. Open your PvP Manager configuration file

2. Locate the newbie-protection or starter-protection section

3. Set enabled: true to activate the feature

4. Define the protection duration (how long new players remain protected after first join)

5. Specify which worlds this applies to, or leave blank for all worlds

6. Reload the plugin using /pvpmanager reload

Testing Protection

Have a new player join the server. They should be unable to take damage from other players during the protection window. Existing players cannot damage them, but the protected player can still move, gather resources, and explore freely.

Protection automatically expires after the configured time period. You can manually remove protection from a player using admin commands if needed. This ensures beginners get a fair start without being spawn-camped or immediately eliminated by veterans.
