Configure Server Performance Settings
Access the Configuration Files
Locate your server's purpur.yml configuration file in the server directory. This file controls Purpur-specific performance and gameplay settings. Back up the original before making changes.
Optimize Entity and Chunk Processing
Within purpur.yml, you can adjust entity processing rates and chunk loading behavior. Look for sections controlling mob spawning, entity activation ranges, and chunk load distances. Lowering these values reduces server load but may affect gameplay experience—test changes on a small scale first.
Adjust Mob Griefing and TNT Behavior
Find the gameplay settings section to enable or disable features like mob griefing (creepers destroying blocks) and TNT explosions. These toggles let you customize the survival experience without plugins.
Apply Changes
Save your edits to purpur.yml, then restart the server or use the reload command if available. Monitor server performance using your hosting provider's tools or in-game lag indicators. If performance worsens, revert changes and adjust more conservatively.
Test Thoroughly
Run the server with a few players first to ensure settings don't break gameplay or cause unexpected behavior before opening to your full player base.
