Adjust CRT Screen Curvature and Scanline Intensity
Access Shader Settings
Open the Shader Options menu while in-game. This is typically found in Video Settings > Shaders > Shader Options, or by pressing a designated hotkey (often a function key or custom bind).
Customize Visual Effects
Look for sliders controlling:
- CRT Curvature: Adjusts how much the screen edges curve inward, mimicking old television monitors. Higher values create more pronounced barrel distortion.
- Scanline Strength: Controls the visibility of horizontal scan lines across your screen. Increase this to make the retro TV effect more prominent, or decrease it for a subtler look.
- Bloom/Glow: Some versions include bloom intensity to soften bright areas and enhance the nostalgic feel.
Fine-Tune for Comfort
If scanlines cause eye strain, reduce their intensity. If the curvature feels too extreme, dial it back. These settings are personal preference—experiment until the retro aesthetic feels right without compromising visibility of important details like mobs or blocks.
Changes apply immediately, so you can see results in real-time as you adjust sliders.
