Reduce Eye Strain During Extended Play Sessions

Lower Overall Brightness

In shader settings, reduce the global brightness slider slightly below default. This decreases the intensity of bright surfaces like sand, snow, and water without affecting gameplay visibility.

Enable Gentle Color Grading

If available, activate any "eye comfort" or "reduced contrast" options. These soften harsh transitions between bright and dark areas, reducing the strain of constant refocusing.

Adjust Bloom and Glow Effects

Reduce bloom intensity (the glow around bright objects) if the option exists. Excessive bloom can cause eye fatigue during long sessions. A subtle bloom maintains visual appeal while being gentler on your eyes.

Customize Ambient Light

Increase ambient light slightly so dark corners aren't pure black. This reduces the contrast your eyes must process constantly. Caves and shaded areas should have enough visibility to feel safe without requiring constant torch placement.

Test Over Time

Play for 30+ minutes and assess comfort. Small adjustments compound—a 5% reduction in brightness combined with reduced bloom creates noticeable relief.
