How to Manage Craving Consequences and Penalties
Understanding the Consequence System
When cravingsConsequences is enabled in your configuration, ignoring or failing to satisfy cravings within a certain time window triggers hunger loss and negative status effects. This adds difficulty to your survival experience.
How Penalties Work
1. A craving appears via action bar alert, status icon, or chat notification.
2. If you don't eat matching food within the time window, penalties activate.
3. Hunger decreases and debuffs like Weakness or Slowness apply to your character.
4. Effects persist until you satisfy a subsequent craving or use restorative items.
Strategies to Avoid Penalties
- Maintain diverse food supplies near your base so you can respond quickly to any craving type.
- Use the Palate Cleanser potion to reroll difficult cravings rather than ignore them—this prevents penalties while resetting your options.
- Check your craving status regularly using
/CravingsCheckso you don't lose track of active requests. - Plan ahead by pre-cooking meals from multiple food categories during downtime.
Disabling Consequences
If the penalty system feels too punishing, toggle cravingsConsequences to false in your configuration file to enjoy cravings as a reward-only system.
