Adjust Footstep Sound Volume and Frequency
Open the Configuration File
Access .minecraft/config/presencefootsteps/ and open the main settings file. This file contains parameters for controlling how loud and how often footstep sounds play.
Modify Volume Multipliers
Look for volume or gain settings in the config. These are typically expressed as decimal values (like 0.5 for half volume, or 1.5 for louder). Adjust these numbers to make footsteps quieter or louder without changing your game's master volume.
Control Sound Frequency
Some configurations let you adjust how often footsteps trigger as you walk. If footsteps feel too frequent or too sparse, look for settings related to step distance or frequency. Increasing the distance between steps makes sounds less frequent.
Separate Settings by Block Type
Advanced configs may let you set different volumes for different materials. You could make footsteps on wood louder than on carpet, for example, by editing individual block entries.
Test Your Changes
Save the config, reload your game, and walk around different terrain. Listen for the volume and frequency changes. Fine-tune the values until footsteps feel natural and immersive to you.
