Tame Wild Bison and Bring Them Home

Finding Wild Bison Herds

Explore Meadow biomes during daytime hours when bison are actively grazing. They spawn naturally in herds across these biomes, so search elevated plains and grassy hills. Avoid approaching at night—bison sleep during dark hours and won't interact with you.

Taming Process

Approach a wild bison and hold one of these items in your hand:

• Grass
• Wheat
• Apples
• Carrots
• Sweet berries

Interact with the bison repeatedly while holding the food. It will gradually become tame and follow you. Continue feeding it to speed up the taming process.

Leading Bison Home

Once tamed, the bison will follow you. Switch it to following mode by interacting with it to ensure it stays close during travel. Lead it back to your base or farm. If you need to stop it from following, switch it to resting mode to keep it in place.

Bring multiple bison home to start a breeding herd—wild herds are large enough that taking a few won't deplete the population.
