Disarm Enemies by Chopping Off Their Weapon Arm

Identify the Armed Limb

Look for which arm your target is holding a weapon in. Zombies, skeletons, and other hostile mobs may carry swords, axes, or bows. Target that specific arm with your attacks.

Strike with a Sharp Weapon

Use a well-maintained cutting tool—axes and swords work best. Ensure your weapon is fully charged before swinging. The mod evaluates weapon material and sharpness, so diamond or netherite tools are more reliable than lower-tier options.

Account for Armor

If the mob wears armor on its arm, you'll need to break through it first. Multiple charged hits may be required. Once the armor is damaged or removed, the limb becomes easier to sever.

Weapon Drop and Damage Reduction

When you successfully remove the armed arm, the mob drops its weapon and loses a significant portion of its melee damage output. This makes the enemy far less threatening in close combat.

Follow Up

After disarming, the mob is vulnerable. Continue attacking or retreat to safety. Some mobs may attempt to pick up dropped weapons, so move them away or destroy them if needed.
