Store Multiple Tool Variants in One Slot

Opening the Storage Overlay

The Storage Overlay lets you pack several versions of the same item—like different enchanted pickaxes—into a single inventory slot, saving valuable space while traveling.

Steps:

1. Open your inventory

2. Find an item you want to store variants of (a pickaxe, sword, etc.)

3. Hold Shift and Right-Click on that item slot

4. A 5-slot overlay window appears above or near the slot

Adding Items to the Overlay

• The overlay only accepts matching item types (pickaxes go with pickaxes)
• You can only add extra items once the base item reaches full stack size
• For single-item tools and armor, you can add variants immediately
• Drag matching items into any of the 5 overlay slots

Safety and Retrieval

All items stored in the overlay stay tied to your player inventory—they'll never spill into chests or containers. To retrieve an item, simply click it in the overlay to move it back to your main inventory.
