Sort Your Inventory Quickly

Using Middle Mouse Button Sorting

The fastest way to organize your inventory is with the middle mouse button. This works in your player inventory, chests, barrels, hoppers, and shulker boxes.

Steps:

1. Open your inventory or a container

2. Position your cursor over any item slot

3. Click the Middle Mouse Button (scroll wheel click)

4. Your items will sort instantly

Cycling Through Sorting Modes

Each middle-click cycles through three different sorting methods:

• Alphabetical: Items arrange A to Z by name
• Category: Items group by type (tools, blocks, food, etc.)
• Baseline: Returns items to their original positions

Important Details

Sorting happens separately for:

• Your hotbar (bottom row)
• Your main inventory grid
• Container spaces (if sorting inside a chest or similar)

This means your hotbar won't mix with your main inventory during sorting. Keep clicking middle mouse to find the sorting style that works best for your current task.
