Reduce Lag by Disabling Shadow Effects
Access the Settings Menu
Press the settings key (default: right-click on the shader name in your shader list, or check your mod loader's shader menu) to open PoorLite's configuration panel. The exact key binding depends on your shader loader.
Turn Off Shadows
Locate the shadow-related toggles in the settings menu. You'll find options to disable or reduce shadow quality. Turning off realistic shadows entirely is the fastest way to improve frame rate on older hardware.
Disable Light Rays
Find the "Light Rays" or "Sun Rays" option and toggle it off. This effect is visually striking but computationally expensive. Disabling it frees up significant GPU resources.
Adjust Block Lighting
If available, reduce the intensity of block lighting adjustments or disable dynamic lighting features. These make the game look more natural but cost performance.
Test Your Changes
After each adjustment, return to the game world and observe your frame rate. Make small changes rather than disabling everything at once—you may find a balance where the shader still looks good while running smoothly on your system.
