Polytone Mod: A Library for Resource Packs and Mods

What Polytone Does

Polytone is a core library mod, not a standalone content mod. It does not add new blocks, items, or mobs on its own. Instead, it provides shared code that other mods and resource packs rely on to work correctly. If you install Polytone by itself, you will not see new gameplay features.

Why You Might Need It

Many packs and mods use Polytone to change visual and audio details that vanilla normally locks down. These include custom lightmaps, biome variant textures, client-side sounds and particles, sky and cloud colors, map colors, block sounds, colormaps, and animated textures that vary by day or time. It also supports GUI tweaks like moving slots, adding GUI elements, and customizing creative tabs, plus item-side changes such as tooltips, rarity, spawn egg colors, and item models.

How to Use It

Install Polytone alongside the mod or resource pack that requires it. It runs quietly in the background and enables those features. No configuration is needed for basic use.
