Set Up Extended Drawers on a Server Without Client Mods

Prerequisites

Ensure both Polymer and Extended Drawers mods are installed on your server. Polymer acts as a compatibility layer, translating Extended Drawers content into vanilla-compatible representations that clients can understand without installing the mod themselves.

Installation Steps

1. Verify server mods folder — Check that both Polymer and the Polymer Patch For Extended Drawers are present in your server's mods directory.

2. Restart the server — Stop and fully restart your server to load both mods and establish the Polymer patch.

3. Connect without mods — Players can now join using a vanilla or modded client without needing Extended Drawers installed. The patch handles server-side conversion automatically.

4. Test drawer functionality — Place an Extended Drawers block and interact with it. Players should see it rendered and function normally, even though they don't have the mod installed.

Troubleshooting

If drawers appear broken or invisible to clients, confirm Polymer loaded before Extended Drawers in the mod load order. Check server logs for conflicts with other mods that might override block rendering.
