How to Stop W-Tap Sprinting with Poly Sprint

What W-tap sprinting is

In vanilla Minecraft, sprinting is often triggered by double-tapping the forward key (W-tap). Some players find this awkward or it interferes with other movement habits. Poly Sprint includes an option to disable this behaviour so sprinting is controlled purely by your sprint key or the toggle.

Disabling W-tap

Open the Poly Sprint config and find the option labelled for W-tap sprinting (it may be phrased as disabling double-tap sprint). Turn it off. Save or apply the change. From now on, double-tapping forward will not start a sprint.

Adjusting your sprint key instead

With W-tap disabled, make sure your dedicated sprint key is bound to something comfortable. You can rebind it in the mod's keybind settings or in vanilla controls. If you also enabled toggle sprint, a single press of that key will lock sprinting on. Test by walking forward and pressing the key once — you should begin sprinting and stay sprinting until you press it again or stop moving. This combination gives you full control without relying on double-taps.
