Set Up Your First Plugin

Installing a Plugin

Plugins extend your server with custom features like economy systems, land protection, or minigames. They're stored in your server's plugins folder.

1. Download a plugin file (usually a .phar file) from a trusted source

2. Place it in your plugins folder inside your server directory

3. Restart your server using start.cmd (Windows) or ./start.sh (Linux/MacOS)

4. Check the server console for confirmation messages—successful plugins will log their activation

Configuring Your Plugin

Most plugins create configuration files automatically after their first run. These appear in plugins/PluginName/ as YAML or JSON files.

1. Stop your server

2. Open the plugin's config file in a text editor

3. Adjust settings like economy currency, protection rules, or command permissions

4. Save and restart your server

5. Test the plugin's commands in-game using / (e.g., /economy balance)

If a plugin fails to load, check the console output for error messages—these usually indicate missing dependencies or configuration problems.
