Manage Player Ranks and Permissions

Understanding Permission Systems

PocketMine-MP uses a permission system to control what players can do. Permissions are typically managed through a permissions plugin like PermissionsEx or LuckPerms.

1. Install a permissions plugin in your plugins folder

2. Restart your server

3. The plugin will create a configuration file (usually in YAML format)

Setting Up Ranks

1. Open the permissions config file

2. Define ranks (groups) like "admin", "moderator", "member"

3. Assign specific permissions to each rank (e.g., command.ban, command.kick)

4. Use in-game commands to assign players to ranks: /rank [player] [rankname]

5. Restart or reload permissions for changes to take effect

Testing Permissions

Have a test player try restricted commands. If they can't execute them, permissions are working correctly. Adjust permission nodes in your config if needed. Most permission plugins support wildcard permissions (e.g., command.* grants all commands) for easier management.
