PlayerAnimator: How Custom Animations Work
A Shared Animation Framework
PlayerAnimator is not a content mod on its own. It is a library that other mods hook into so they can animate your player character without fighting each other.
When a mod wants your character to move in a custom way, it hands PlayerAnimator an animation file. These files come from tools like Blockbench or Blender, and the mod also reads GeckoLib and
Emotecraft formats, so you are not locked into one authoring tool.
Because several mods may want to animate you at once, PlayerAnimator uses a layer system. Each request gets its own layer instead of overwriting the others, which keeps poses organized.
To avoid stiff, robotic motion, the mod blends poses together and evaluates math expressions that drive the movement. The result is smoother transitions between actions rather than sudden snapping.
In short: install it as a dependency, and any compatible mod can then pose, fight, or dance your character.
