How to Read the Health Bars Above Other Players' Heads

What the Overlay Shows

When another player is in your view, the mod draws a row of hearts above their name tag. These hearts mirror the target's current health, so a player at full health shows a full row, and a player who has taken damage shows partially filled or empty hearts. The display updates continuously, so you can watch a player's health drop during a fight without opening any menu.

Practical Reading Tips

  • Look at the number of filled hearts, not just the row length. A player missing only a sliver of one heart is nearly full and dangerous to rush.
  • Watch the hearts change in real time during combat. If you see them drop sharply, that player is taking hits and may be worth pressing.
  • Compare the hearts to your own health bar on your HUD before committing to a fight. If your bar is lower than theirs, disengage and heal first.
  • Use the overlay at range to scout. Even before you are close enough to fight, you can see whether an approaching player is healthy or already weakened.

Common Misreads

Hearts above a name reflect that player's health only. They do not show armor, absorption, or hunger, so a player with full hearts may still be heavily armored. Treat the overlay as one piece of information, not a full picture of an opponent's strength.
