How to Use the Plain Grinder
Grinding Ores into Dust
The Plain Grinder is a manual machine for getting more material out of a single ore block. Instead of smelting an ore directly, you grind it first, then smelt the resulting dust.
To set it up, place the grinder block and make sure the handle sits on top. Once it is placed correctly, put your ore into the grinder. With an empty hand, interact with the grinder to work the handle and grind the ore down. The output is dust rather than a finished ingot.
Take that dust to a furnace and smelt it as you normally would. Because the grinding step yields extra material compared to smelting the raw ore, this method stretches each block further. It is a simple, hands-on alternative to instant smelting, rewarding you with more resources per ore at the cost of a little manual effort.
