Optimize Map Rendering Speed for Large Worlds
Why Rendering Speed Matters
Pl3xMap is designed for ultra-fast rendering, but very large worlds or servers with many chunks can still benefit from optimization. Faster renders mean your map stays current and reduces server resource usage during the rendering process.
Optimization Strategies
1. Adjust render radius: Limit how far from spawn the map renders. Edit your configuration to set a maximum render distance
2. Increase render threads: If your server has CPU headroom, allow Pl3xMap to use more threads for parallel rendering
3. Schedule renders during off-peak hours: Configure automatic renders to occur when player count is low
4. Exclude unnecessary areas: Disable rendering for unvisited or admin-only regions
5. Use appropriate render type: Basic render is faster than biomes or inhabited—use simpler types if speed is critical
Monitoring Performance
Check server logs during rendering to see how long each render cycle takes. If renders complete in minutes rather than hours, your optimization is working. Reload the map in your browser to see updated chunks. Balance between map completeness and server performance based on your needs.
