How to See the Custom Hardcore Hearts from Pixels Simple Hud

Why You Only See Them in Hardcore

Pixels Simple Hud ships two separate heart styles: the normal hearts used in regular survival, and a distinct set used only when the game is in Hardcore mode. The pack swaps the heart texture automatically based on the world type, so you cannot toggle the Hardcore look on in a normal world through the resource pack menu alone.

Steps to View Them

1. From the main menu, select Singleplayer and click Create New World.

2. Open the world settings and turn the Hardcore option on. Note that this locks the world to Hardcore permanently.

3. Finish creating the world and spawn in.

4. Look at your health bar. The hearts should now use the Hardcore variant from the pack instead of the standard style.

If the Hearts Look Wrong

Confirm Pixels Simple Hud is still selected in Options > Resource Packs and sits above any other pack that also edits the hearts texture. If another pack overrides the hearts, move Pixels Simple Hud higher in the selected list. Remember that Hardcore hearts only appear while the world is in Hardcore mode — leaving Hardcore is not possible once enabled, so test in a throwaway world if you just want to preview the look.
