Enable Cinematic Post-Processing Effects for a Movie-Like Look

Find the Post-Processing Menu

In Pixel Shades Shaders options, locate the Cinematic Post-Processing section. This controls film-style visual effects applied to your entire screen.

Toggle Individual Effects

Three main effects can be turned on or off independently:

  • Film grain adds a subtle texture that mimics old film cameras
  • Bloom creates a soft glow around bright light sources like torches, lava, and the sun
  • Color grading shifts the overall color tone of your world to match different moods or times of day

Adjust Effect Intensity

Each effect has its own intensity slider. Start with moderate settings and increase gradually—too much film grain can make the image look noisy, and excessive bloom can wash out details. Find the balance that enhances your cinematic feel without obscuring visibility.

Preview in Different Lighting

Test post-processing effects at different times of day and in different locations. Bloom is most noticeable near bright light sources, while film grain and color grading affect the entire screen. Night scenes often benefit most from these effects, creating a dramatic, atmospheric look.
