Adjust Shader Quality to Match Your Computer's Performance

Access the Shader Settings

Open the Shader Options menu from your Video Settings. Look for the Pixel Shades Shaders configuration panel—this is where all performance and visual adjustments live.

Choose Your Quality Preset

The mod includes four different quality settings designed for different hardware capabilities. Lower settings reduce the complexity of shadows, water physics, and post-processing effects, while higher settings enable all visual features at full detail.

Select the preset that matches your computer's power. If you experience frame rate drops or stuttering, move down one quality tier. If your game runs smoothly with headroom, you can move up.

Fine-Tune Individual Features

Beyond presets, you can toggle specific features on and off:

  • Post-processing effects (film grain, bloom, color grading)
  • 3D clouds (switch to flat clouds for better performance)
  • Realistic water physics (disable wave detail if needed)
  • Shadow quality (reduce shadow distance or softness)

Disabling just one or two heavy features often gives better results than dropping an entire quality tier. Test your changes in-game and adjust until you find the balance between visuals and performance that works for you.
