Troubleshoot Terrain Generation Issues

Check Image Format and Dimensions

Ensure both your heightmap and biome map are PNG files with matching dimensions. Verify they're saved as 8-bit RGBA (for biome maps) or grayscale (for heightmaps) without compression artifacts. Mismatched sizes or corrupted files prevent proper generation.

Verify Datapack Structure

Confirm your pack.mcmeta file exists and is correctly formatted. Check that your image files are in the correct dimension configuration folder path. Typos in folder names or file paths will cause the mod to ignore your custom terrain.

Review Biome Color Mapping

If biomes appear in wrong locations, your configuration file may have incorrect color-to-biome mappings. Double-check that the RGB values in your config match the exact colors you painted. Even slight color differences cause mismatches.

Test with Example Datapacks

The mod includes built-in example datapacks. Load one to confirm the mod works in your setup. If examples work but your custom pack doesn't, compare your folder structure and configuration against the working example.

Check Mod Compatibility

Ensure no conflicting mods are interfering with terrain generation. Disable other terrain-altering mods temporarily to isolate the issue.
