How to Set Up Your First Item Pipe Network in Pipez
Placing and Connecting Pipes
Start by
crafting
Item Pipes and placing them between a source inventory (like a chest) and a destination (like a furnace or another chest). Pipes in Pipez auto-connect to adjacent inventories and to each other, so you usually don't need a wrench for basic hookups. Right-click a pipe with the
Pipe Wrench to toggle connection sides if a pipe is grabbing from a side you don't want. The wrench is also how you disconnect a pipe from a neighbor without breaking it.
Configuring the Pipe
Right-click the pipe itself (not with the wrench) to open its configuration GUI. Here you set:
- Extract/Insert mode — decide whether this pipe pulls from the attached inventory or pushes into it.
- Redstone control — ignore, require high, or require low signal.
- Filter — whitelist or blacklist specific items so only certain
things move. - Priority — when multiple destinations exist, higher priority wins.
Upgrades and Throughput
By default a pipe moves a limited amount per tick. Insert a
Basic Pipe Upgrade,
Improved Pipe Upgrade,
Advanced Pipe Upgrade, or
Ultimate Pipe Upgrade into the upgrade slot of the pipe's GUI to raise transfer speed and filter slots. The
Infinity Pipe Upgrade removes the throughput cap entirely. Start with Basic upgrades on short runs and only escalate when you see items backing up.
