Establish a Food Farm Around the Castle

Find Flat Ground Near the Walls

Walk around the castle perimeter and identify flat or nearly flat terrain. The custom landscape usually offers clear spaces on at least one or two sides of the fortress. Avoid areas with too many trees, as you'll need open space for crops.

Prepare Your Farmland

Clear grass and weeds from a rectangular area. Use a hoe on dirt blocks to create farmland. You need water nearby—either dig a small channel to a water source or place water blocks in a pattern so hydration reaches all your crops.

Plant Your Crops

Gather seeds from tall grass or craft them from harvested crops. Plant seeds in your prepared farmland. Wheat is the most reliable starter crop. Space rows evenly so you can walk between them for harvesting.

Maintain Your Farm

Water your crops regularly and keep the area lit at night to prevent mobs from trampling plants. Harvest fully grown crops and replant seeds immediately. As your farm grows, expand outward from the castle walls to increase your food output.
