Using Ping Information for PvP and Competitive Play

How Ping Affects Combat

In PvP situations, ping directly impacts hit registration and reaction time. Ping View Mod lets you see your latency and your opponent's, helping you adjust your strategy accordingly.

Reading Ping Before Combat

Before engaging in PvP, check the tab list to see your ping and your opponent's:

  • Low ping (green): You'll land hits more reliably; your blocks break faster
  • High ping (red): Expect delays in hit registration; aim slightly ahead of moving targets
  • Mismatched pings: If your opponent has much lower ping, they have a connection advantage

Adjusting Your Playstyle

With high ping, lead your shots more generously and expect your opponent to appear in different positions than where you see them. With low ping, you can be more aggressive and precise. Understanding the ping difference between you and your opponent helps set realistic expectations for combat.

Server Fairness

If you notice consistent ping disparities across players, it may indicate unfair competitive conditions. Some servers implement lag compensation to level the playing field. Knowing everyone's ping helps you understand whether outcomes are skill-based or connection-based.
