Adjust Shadow Softness to Your Preference
Access Shader Settings
Open the shader options menu while in-game by pressing the designated key (usually found in your controls menu under "Shader Options"). Look for the Shadows or Shadow Quality section in the settings panel.
Fine-Tune Shadow Softness
Locate the shadow softness slider—this controls how blurred or defined shadows appear across blocks and terrain. Moving the slider toward softer values will increase the gentle, diffused shadow effect that Pine Shaders is known for. Moving it toward harder values will make shadows more defined and crisp.
Test Your Changes
Walk through different environments—forests with dense trees, open plains, and mountainous areas—to see how your shadow preference looks in each biome. Shadows will cast differently depending on time of day and tree density, so test at various times.
Save Your Preferences
Once you've found settings that feel right for your playstyle, the shader will remember your choices for future sessions. If you want to return to defaults, most shader packs include a reset option in the settings menu.
