How to Stop Water and Lava From Spreading Using Physics Toggle

Disabling Fluid Flow

Water and lava normally spread across the ground and can ruin your builds or cause lag. To stop them from flowing, stand near the area where you want to place fluids and run /togglephysics. This turns off physics for the surrounding region, which includes fluid spreading. Now when you place a water or lava source block, it will stay as a single block and will not flow outward.

Using This for Builds and Minigames

This is especially useful for creating decorative pools, lava lamps, or custom minigame arenas where you want fluids to remain static. Place your source blocks after toggling physics off, and they will not spread. If you need to fill a large area, you can place multiple source blocks manually. Remember that the toggle affects the area around the player, so if you move too far, the effect might not apply. To restore normal fluid behavior, run /togglephysics again in the same area. This will re-enable physics, and any source blocks will begin to flow as usual. Always double-check that physics is off before placing fluids, otherwise they will spread immediately. This command gives you precise control over fluid dynamics without needing to use barrier blocks or other workarounds.
