Capture Screenshots with Realistic Lighting and Reflections

Position Your Build for Optimal Lighting

Path-traced lighting responds to the sun and moon position, so time of day matters. Golden hour (sunrise/sunset) creates warm, directional light ideal for dramatic screenshots. Overcast or rainy conditions produce soft, diffused lighting that flatters most builds. Use the /time set command to experiment with different times.

Leverage Water and Wet Surface Reflections

Place your build near water or use rain to activate wet surface reflections. The shader will render realistic mirror-like reflections on water blocks and rain-wet surfaces. Position your camera to capture these reflections in the frame—they add significant visual depth and realism to screenshots.

Compose Your Shot

Move to a vantage point that shows off colored shadows and light bouncing between blocks. Look for areas where light passes through transparent blocks or reflects off shiny surfaces. The path-traced system will render these details automatically.

Disable UI and Adjust Settings

Press F1 to hide the HUD. If your shader has a screenshot or cinematic mode, enable it to maximize quality. Take your shot and review—the path-traced lighting should create depth and realism beyond vanilla Minecraft.
